The greatest game of the football season had millions of fans watching. Two talented teams battled for the trophy, a ring, and personal glory. A majority of the nation watched in suspense as the Falcons struggled during the first overtime game in Super Bowl history.

The two teams battled for the title of the Super Bowl LI winners. The famed New England Patriots made their way through the playoffs making their way to their eighth Super Bowl. The  underdog team, the Atlanta Falcons, also made their way to their 3rd Super Bowl in their 51 years as a team.

“I felt like it was one of the best games in Super Bowl history,” Peter Ferguson (‘17) said. “It was a good and close game, and I was surprised how well the Falcons played in the first quarter. Although the first quarter was great, my favorite part was when the Patriots made the greatest comeback in history, 25 points.”

Many students and teachers thought it was one of few games in the history of Super Bowls that was exciting from beginning to end. They were glued to the game as the Patriots scored their comeback in the last quarter.

“It was the greatest game I have ever seen because of the dramatic 25 point comeback point in the last quarter with little to nothing before half time,” Noah Reitmeyer (‘19) said.

Super Bowl LI was a great game with the best of the teams who earned their way to the Super Bowl. Whether they won or not, they played in the most watched game in the NFL season. Just for playing in the Super Bowl the teams deserved respect because they never gave up.
